A new pool is a big investment. But without the right landscaping around it, it can feel unfinished - like a great centerpiece in an otherwise empty room. That's exactly what we were working with here. The pool itself was beautiful. The space around it just needed to catch up.
We designed the full backyard landscape to work with the pool, not just exist next to it. Along the back fence, we planted a row of privacy shrubs and accent trees that create a natural screen without making the yard feel closed in. The result is a space that feels tucked away and intentional - something you actually want to spend time in.
The lighting is where everything clicks into place after dark. We installed low-voltage uplights throughout the yard - at the base of the birch tree near the pool edge, along the fence line, and tucked into the planting beds. Each fixture is positioned to highlight texture and depth. The warm glow bouncing off the wood fence and through the tree canopy creates an atmosphere you can't get with standard outdoor lighting.
What we ended up with is a backyard that works all day and all night. The lawn area is clean and open. The plantings give structure and privacy. And the lighting pulls every layer together once the sun goes down. Every piece of this design had a job to do - beauty, comfort, and function all at once.
This is the kind of work we put into every outdoor space we design. Landscaping and lighting aren't separate decisions - they're one system, and when you plan them together from the start, the difference shows.
